Woopra analytics, the leading analytics software with its great features will be released officially in an hour. Woopra has been under the beta for almost a year and a half. Today Woopra is coming out of beta and is going to be launched for the public in different packages following each customer’s needs. Woopra CEO, John Pozadzides stated that there will be a free account, and the lowest payed account will cost 5$/month which makes it affordable for everyone to get. Of course other websites with a large traffic will need a bigger account depending on the visitors/day.
We wish for Woopra all the success as people working on it deserves it for all their new ideas and hard work.

I came few days ago, by these line by a person talking about Woopra and how it was sold.
“He criticized the slow and expensive broadband connectivity in Lebanon saying that it is preventing foreign investors from doing business in the country. He criticized the difficulty in acquiring patent rights, mentioning Woopra: a web analytics service invented by two Lebanese people aimed at generating live detailed statistics about the visitors to a website.
“Their tool proved to be better than Google statistics and was downloaded by 15 million people around the world. However, they could not protect their invention with a patent unfortunately, and had to sell equity to a Greek investor for them to go worldwide,” he said.”
Although part of his statement is right when stating that broadband speed and price is preventing foreign investors from doing business here, I wished he had investigated about Woopra before saying it was sold for someone abroad.
First, he needs to know that this Greek investor has a name, which is John Pozadzides, a very successful man in the IT industry. John was chief marketing officer at LayeredTech. John unlike most of Lebanese investors a strong believer in Woopra and gave them the chance to go worldwide and we all thank him for that.
As for Woopra founders, it was worth mentioning their names, Elie El Khoury and Jad Younan, who worked day and night for a whole year to come up with the first release of Woopra. The most important thing this person should know, or should’ve asked about, is that Elias and Jad never sold Woopra, on the contrary, they refused to sell it and they are now co-founders for iFusion Labs alongside John.
So I think using Woopra as an example for the bad broadband we have is a very false statement. The lack of Lebanese investors who believed in it in first place was the reason for Elie and Jad to look elsewhere because as bad as broadband is Woopra is being developed in Lebanon, so forgive me sir but next time do some research on the subject before starting to throw false statements that are far from reality for you sake and for our sake, so we don’t have to write another blog to clarify it.

I was suprised today by not being able to acces google mail for my personal domain. I got 500 error. I tried a bit later as requested by google but the same error. First I thought it’s something with my domain, so I checked but no errors with my domain. Then I was mentioning this to a friend and he said he has the same problem with his gmail account, and after googling it, it seems everyone is have this problem with google email service. Google said they still don’t know what’s causing the problem but the positive side of it is that we won’t loose any emails. It was mentioned that we can still access the email accounts from a desktop email client. I was thinking to move my domain to windows live domains, but been hesitating, so today I decided to try one of my domains with windows live domains to compare it with google custom domains. Let’s hope google will resolve this error very soon.
Update: It’s working from time to time now, I see they are still working on it, so sometimes it’s working, others it’s not.
Update 2: Now everything’s back to normal. But still I am giving Windows Live Domains a try.

I tried yesterday maysoon’s cheeseburger platter. Surprisingly, the platter contained 2 beef patties layed on a burger bun, coleslaw and a somehow fair amount of fries. There were 3 different types of cheese on it. The patties were not thick but tasted good, and you can actually enjoy the taste of the meat. They used a cocktail sauce for topping which tasted nothing like cocktail sauce, and I liked it a lot. Overall the platter tasted good, but it was a bit dry. I’ll surely eat it whenever I’m there. I’ll give it a 3 stars rating.
Rating:
The Cheese Burger Platter at Maysoon costs 12100 lebanese pounds or 8$

I always wanted to have a reviews about restaurants and food in Lebanon. I started a while back cookies hunt but never continued it because of the lack of places that made cookies. Now I am starting the best burger in Lebanon review, then I’ll move to something else. I will be checking the price, taste, presentation and based on it I will rate the burger. The reviews might not include burger places like McDonalds, Burger King or Hardees, no I will review just normal cheap food places. So stay tuned.
